Straight A’s for the School Board

Guest Contributor

Northumberland County residents are seeing everyday the failure of the school administrators and many on the School Board.  Students and teachers in the school are evaluated on their progress in learning, teaching, and managing.   The School Board should lead by example and invite public input on their annual evaluation.  Taking a look back to 2018, I think the leaders and administrators of our school deserve straight “A”s.  In particular:

Performance Category

Board/Leadership Responsibilities

Grade

Strategic Leadership

Planning, Future Thinking

A for Absent

Planning and Assessment

Written goals are measured

A for Abysmal

Instructional Leadership

Ensuring high quality instruction

A for Ambivalent

Organizational Leadership & Resource Management

Developing and implementing policies and procedures

A for Apathy

Communication & Community Relations

Build trust, foster engagement, ensure student success

AAA for Absent, Aloof, and Abandoned

Equitable Leadership

Fair and inclusive environment

A for Atrocious

Professionalism

Acting with integrity, respect, and ethical conduct

A for Arrogant

Student Progress and Academic Achievement

A for Amateurish

In short, the school board and leadership have acted from 2018-2024 to annihilate public trust.  It is time for a change.
