On March 5, 2025 the Board of Supervisors held a special meeting to discuss the corrective action plans filed by County divisions in response to the findings of the recently completed forensic audit.  One hour earlier the Joint Finance Committee met with representatives from the Board of Supervisors and the community.  The discussion included an overview of school finances with details related to overspending, questions on expenses, and the budget presented (not voted) by the Superintendent to the School Board. 

Public attendees for the Joint Finance Committee meeting included the school interim finance director, the Superintendent, and several School Board members.  During the Joint Finance Committee meeting and also the special called Board of Supervisor meeting, the Superintendent, interim finance director, and Chair of the School Board engaged in a conversation about the finances (starting at minute 46:50 in the Joint Finance Committee meeting) and shared that the School Board has been fully aware of the issues yet had no answers (56:20 of the special called Board of Supervisors meeting).   The Superintendent stated that she took “full ownership as your Superintendent…” of all the issues (56:01 of the special called Board of Supervisors meeting).
