23 Apr School Board Meeting Update from 04/15/24

Interested in seeing how your school board member is voting on issues affecting your children? Or if they are asking any questions on school finances? A Rumble video of the April 15, 2024 school board meeting is now available for your viewing here.
Votes taken on closed meeting agenda items that also appeared on the open meeting agenda include:
- Approval of financial reports
- Approval of program of study changes
- Approval of SOL testing dates
- Actions to review the proposed optional Virginia School Board Association policy changes before they are submitted for adoption at the May 13 meeting. Some of the changes being considered:
- reducing some financial checks and balances
- modifications to the school’s strip search policy
- paying community members who serve on committees (they are not paid now)
