VOTE

As you know, next Tuesday, November 4th is election day.  There have been many column inches of articles, letters to the editor, and political ads dedicated to this election.  And let’s not forget this season’s crop of political signs dotting the landscape…

According to the registrar’s office, as of this morning, 2,534 people have already voted.   If you are interested in early voting, you have until Saturday at 5:00pm to cast your ballot at the Heathsville registrar’s office.  If you haven’t yet voted, Tuesday is your opportunity to weigh on on two district’s Board of Supervisors and School Board candidates.  County wide, the referendum on changing to an appointed school board is also on the ballot.

Voting hours on Election day are 6:00 am – 7:00 pm – plenty of time to stop by and vote on the way to work or on your way home!  Or grab a friend and go to lunch after you both vote – make it an event!

Here is the list of county polling places:
District 1- Callao Volunteer Fire Department
District 2- St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church
District 3- Fairfields United Methodist Church
District 4 – Wicomico Parish Church
District 5- Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department

Regardless of how you plan to vote on these important questions if you haven’t already voted, make plans to be at your polling place on Tuesday.  We are fond of saying ‘your voice counts’ and ‘Thank you for participating.’

There is no more important voice or more important participation than voting.
