On March 27^th, the Board of Supervisors received a briefing from Mr. John Kost regarding the school’s corrective action plan submitted after the forensic audit.  The briefing included observations and recommendations for immediate action.  Mr. Brann and Mr. Kost also shared information regarding actions Essex County Board of Supervisors and School Board are taking to address financial issues, actions that include the County managing school finances and changes in school leadership including the Superintendent and Finance Director.  The Board of Supervisors made a motion to ask the School Board for a joint meeting to address these issues.  A full recording of the meeting can be found on the County channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RX7yNMtMMI

Also on March 27^th, The School Board entered into closed meeting to cover personnel and legal matters per the announcement.  The action items after the meeting included hiring an outside investigator for a personnel matter including fact-finding and legal advice to assist with pending litigation, appointment of an alternate freedom of information act officer, contract authorization, and accepting the health care rate increase, a matter which the Board of Supervisors discussed in an open session.  An audio only recording of the meeting can be found at https://rumble.com/v6rb416-special-called-school-board-meeting-march-2025.html
