Northumberland County needs strong leadership to restore confidence in our school board. We need leaders that can move us into the future rather than keep us anchored in the past. Changes are underway in the school administration that are very promising. We are starting to see transparency, accountability, and responsiveness but these seeds are very fragile and need time and nourishment to grow. Does our School Board leadership have the ability to nourish and support this growth? Let’s take a look using the code of ethics pledge taken each year by our local elected school board leaders. This includes making decisions based on facts, setting policy only after being informed, and upholding state laws and regulations. Grading according to these criteria does not look promising for us……
